Kennecott Copper Mine

While in UT we went to Kennecott Copper Mine. It was fascinating! Did you know when the Olympics were in UT in 2002 that Kennecott provided all the materials to make the medals for the Olympic winners? And that they were the biggest medals ever? If I can remember right the gold one weighed 1.25 pounds! Also, you can see Kennecott from outer space!!
We learned other interesting facts too, but you should just check it out yourself if you're ever in the neighborhood.
Erick and Ryan standing in front of the mine
My mom and the rest of us standing in front of an old rail car.

A huge tire...for the dump trucks.

Do you see that full size pick-up truck driving by like a micro machine??!!
A bus. A full size school bus, looking TINY next to these HUGE dump trucks. Needless to say, Everett loved going to Kennecott.

Tyler almost took a job working there. I still need to take my kids on a tour.
