Our first self-cut Christmas tree

We decided to start a new tradition and go cut our own tree down this year. We were all very excited.
Everett knew exactly what one he wanted, or was he giving tips to Erick on how to cut it?
We found a perfect tree. Erick sawed it down faster than any lumber jack I know! Of course, I don't know any lumber jacks, but still, it was pretty fast. And the weather that day was awesome! 70 degrees! The only problem with that is the bugs aren't dead! Yuck!! We had bugs crawling all over the tree. I guess it's part of a 'southern' Christmas.
It wasn't until we got it home that we realized just how big the tree was. It barely fit in our house! We have 10' ceilings and it was about 1/2" from the top! We also had to move one of our couches to the garage so we could actually use our living room!

Then, we decorated it. While decorating it Ryan was trying to eat it and Everett broke a glass globe, so we decided to just kid proof the tree from the beginning. It was such a pretty tree. Since we left for vacation before Christmas, we had Christmas at our house early and then gave the tree to a needy family. They were really excited to have it. And by that point, we were really excited to be rid of it!
