Another one bites the dust!

Hooray!! I finally finished a partially finished project! I started making this Christmas scrap quilt LAST Christmas, and I finally finished it. I decided if I finished it now, maybe we could use it this Christmas instead of not being able to use it until Christmas of '09! All the materials for the quilt were just pieces of scraps I had around, it was fun to make, but I'm really not impressed with my quilting abilities--or should I say disabilities?... It looked okay until I tried to quilt it together on my sewing machine--yikes. I could not sew a straight line for the life of me! (maybe people won't notice?) Erick was looking at the back of it and he said he could really notice that the lines are crooked, so trying to redeem myself I said, 'well, it's not that noticeable on the front since there is so much more pattern.' I turned it over to the front and he's all, 'yeah, you can still notice really easily'. It's true. Oh well. Hopefully I'll do better next time. For now, I'm just excited to be done with that!

I also had my "final" cake decorating class (although I'm going to start the next course this coming week). I think my cake turned out pretty good. Roses are hard!

We learned how to frost cupcakes...oh my! NOT my forte. I have to bring
these to the ward party tonight, I hope people actually choose to eat them, cause they're sorta scary looking. This picture makes the orange look orange and the black look sorta black, but in real life--well, the orange is more of a peachy color and the black looks like a nasty gray. Any ideas of how to get a true black color?

Wow, look how crafty and creative you are! By the way, the words are weird. Maybe it's just me, but they're all webding images. Anyway, congrats on the baby - did you decide if you'll find out what you're having? And congrats to Erick! It's been a long road and it's nice to see the end! Are you still in Kansas City? When are you leaving?

Cute things you're working on. I know what it's like to try to finish any projects.
